As you go through Breath Of The Wild, you might notice many challenges facing you along the way. Neat tips and strategies can really guide you to victory and even good loot! Here are 7 tips about Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild.
#7. Learn How To Dodge
This may seem like an obvious one but, dodging is truly an art. Dodging effectively in this game requires skill and I’m still not that good at it. To dodge on the Nintendo Switch you press LZ button to lock on then press X to jump out the way at the right time to activate “Flurry Rush”. You can now repeatedly press Y to put on massive damage in the matter of seconds.
This can really be useful when your on low health or just defeating a really big boss.
#6. Parrying Is Key
Parrying is a really great skill to have. Parrying is where you block an attack but deflect it back on contact with your shield. It can deflect attacks from regular enemies but also Guardians. That is where it can help in the long run. To properly Parry, whip out your shield, wait until someone attacks and as soon as the attack hits your shield, hit A. It can take some work to perfect.
The REALLY OP thing about parrying is that it can kill Guardians with any type of shield. Its the same jist, wait till the beam hits at the right time then parry once the beam hits the shield. I takes SUPER good reflexes and I had to die over and over to get it right.
#5. Cook. Simple, Just Cook.
Cooking is a very vital part of breath of the wild. Making certain elixers to survive terrains and eating foods to protect against certain elements is key. There are list and list of food recipes in this game and some give more hearts than others.
To survive in this game, you need to make meals. Meals provide health so you can regain hearts during fights and even gain more hearts than you even have. To cook, go into your inventory and press A, it will ask you if you want to hold the item and you press the Hold button. Once you hold all your various items (up to 5), you press A to cook near a pot.
#4. Have A Greater Priority For Hearts
When you conquer 4 shrines, you can trade these spirit orbs to the goddess at several towns for hearts or stamina. Get to a decent level for stamina but, overall get more hearts. One, you can survive more and two, you can get the one and only Master Sword. The most iconic sword in the game.
To get it, you need 13 hearts and you have to find it at the Lost Woods. Its A little puzzle but once you get it, you got it. The Master Sword Is “practically” unbreakable but, in reality it will break. Which is what I get into in the next point.
#3. Use Weapons and Shields Sparingly
One of the major flaws in this game is the weathering system. Items and swords can break including shields. Most good things you get can break so easily and that is really a bummer. Even the Hylian Shield (which i’ll tell you how to get) is even breakable, the most OP shield in the game.
Like I said, I’ll tell you how to get the Hylian Shield. To get it, you need to be at a reasonably decent point in the game. A point where you wont die in one hit or have 4 hearts but, this is BoW so you can do whatever you want.
Here’s how to get to the location of the Hylian Shield. Go to Ganon’s Castle, yes, the final boss in the game. Instead of going upwards to the top most point of the castle where he is, go down in the dungeon. To get there, run or ride to the front gate of Ganon’s Castle, there will be Sh*t tons of Guardians so avoid them or kill them if you can with the parrying technique I stated.
Once you get to the front gate, you’ll see an opening to the side of the bridge over the water, glide in there and traverse through the caverns till you get to a jail cell, this jail cell will have to be unlocked by shooting an arrow at a glowing demon eye. Once your out all the other mobs are out too.
You can kill them and take their weapons and even get REALLY GOOD stuff from inside the jail cells. Once you done, go to the far left of the prison until you see another cell with sand. When you walk in there will be a “Mini-Boss” there.
Its super easy, just use a charged move on him and once its eye falls out keep hitting it over and over. Once Dead, a chest will appear and inside is the Hylian Shield!
#2. Get A Good Horse
This seems like an obvious but, it can be really annoying having a bad horse with two whips. If you want to find more horses, go to forest areas and you should be able to find some. Horses can range in a wide variety and you want the best ones with a high stamina of 4 and 5 points or whips.
A good way to tame horses is to use the stealth suit and walk or sneak up behind them and press Tame repeatedly.
#1. Play The Game At Your Own Pace, Explore and Loot Will Be In Store
Breath of The Wild is a game of Open-world exploration and fun. Do things search every crack and crevice. The more you look, the best loot will be in store for you. It’s a lot like Diablo, the more you snoop around “booty” will be there.
Have fun and Enjoy Playing!
